Personalized Representation is our Passion.

At Accident Law Group, our entire firm handles only accident/injury cases. 100% of our work is building, arguing, and winning injury cases just like yours. It is what our founding partners named the firm, because accidents are all we focus on. Unlike other law firms that seem to work every kind of case from criminal, to social security, to family law, and maybe a little personal injury, we at Accident Law Group chose to focus on one type of law and do it better than anyone else. Accident Law Group was founded on the principle of providing our clients with exceptional face to face service from trustworthy, experienced attorneys.

ATTORNEYS COST TOO MUCH MONEY AND I CAN’T

The personal injury client is afraid they are going to have to pay the attorney up front (a retainer). We end that fear! Accident Law Group works on a contingency basis. What does that mean? Put simply we don’t get paid until the case settles. WE WAIT TO GET PAID!!

  • Our attorneys’ fees will never be greater than the portion the client takes home from the settlement
  • If we don’t collect, you owe us nothing
  • We will do everything in our power to get you the best settlement possible for your claim

Robert W. Shely (“Bob”) is a partner at Accident Law Group as well as the firm’s Litigation Department Head. Before joining the ALG ranks, he spent nearly 32 years as a litigator and trial lawyer at a major international law firm, Bryan Cave, LLP, which he joined straight out of law school in 1985. In that capacity, Mr. Shely devoted the bulk of his practice to defending insurance companies, tire manufactures, large corporate clients (including Fortune 500 and 100 companies,) large institutional banks, and manufactures in all manner of tort, products liability, contract and civil disputes. Mr. Shely thus has substantial insight into the thinking and strategies of corporate defendants, their insurers and their counsel. Bob enjoys an “AV Preeminent®” rating from Martindale Hubbel, the oldest and most prestigious lawyer rating organization in the United States, which rating is based solely on peer and/or client comments. “AV Preeminent®” is the highest peer rating standard that the rating organization provides. According to the Martindale Hubbell rating service, “This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.”

Mr. Shely is happily married (still) after more than 30 years to his wife, Lynda Shely, a well-known Arizona lawyer and leading expert in legal ethics. They moved to Arizona in 1991, with their then-nine-month old daughter, and were joined a couple of years later by twins (a boy and girl.) All kids are up and out, having achieved their college degrees and having landed jobs in three different states other than Arizona. Bob and Lynda still have at home a dog (Lacey,) a five-year old black and white English Springer Spaniel, and a Calico cat (Callie,) who is the sole survivor of a once proud herd of five cats that they had when the kids were home.

Mr. Shely is an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoys hiking, camping, rock climbing, mountain climbing and fly fishing. Along the way during many these activities, he frequently totes about 40 pounds of photographic gear as a die-hard outdoor photographer. He also is a rock hound and enjoys the thrill of the search at localities within and without of Arizona. He has even been to Spain to collect a certain kind of rock that is not found anywhere else.  In 2017 he observed Great White Sharks (camera in hand) from the safety of a steel cage in the waters off Mexico.

The Shelys contribute regularly to a number of charitable or educational organizations, including their alma matter, Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where they sit on the Leadership Counsel.  They have supported the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and the United Way of the Valley of the Sun.  They also support such charities such as the ASPCA and KJZZ (Local NPR). In addition, Mr. Shely is a member of the Advisory Council for U.S. Vets-Phoenix.
